5 reasons to respect trees and continue reforestation

More and more of us are concerned about the environment and how each of our actions relates to it, but do we really know how to preserve it?

We can all help the planet with small, everyday actions, from turning off lights when not needed and recycling, to protecting our water resources. In the context of World Tree Day, we share 5 reasons why trees are essential for the preservation of nature and ecosystems:

They favor the capture of water through their leaves, branches and trunk.

They manage to carry that water to the aquifers through their roots.

They improve the texture, fertility and protection of soils.

They conserve biodiversity and habitat.

They reduce global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide, removing and storing carbon, and releasing oxygen.

Thanks to the Bepensa Foundation, in collaboration with private and public associations and institutions, actions are taken and programs are launched to protect the environment. These programs clean cenotes, promote the restoration of green areas and reforestation, and encourage participation in surrounding communities to create and share a sustainable ecological awareness.

The success of these programs lies in optimal tree placement, maintenance, and soil conservation, all to promote groundwater recharge throughout the country. This has also allowed us to return more than 100% of the water we use in our products and continue working toward sustainable development.

Likewise, every time the Bepensa team is tasked with reactivating parks and providing them with infrastructure, we voluntarily contribute to increasing the planting of new trees in each space, with the aim of contributing to reforestation goals.

In Mexico, we've celebrated Arbor Day since 1959, seeking to raise awareness about the need to protect flora in general, for all the benefits it represents.

We invite you to continue this best practice to achieve positive actions for the environment.

Caring for the environment is a commitment we all have to make.

Go ahead and contribute your drop of water to help the planet!
