For several hours, the Bepensa Foundation, through Expedición Grosjean and with the support of the Ministry of Sustainable Development, residents and children from an elementary school in the community of Tabi, in the municipality of Sotuta, Yucatán state, cleaned a cenote in this locality.
Children and volunteers participated in recovering waste around the cenote, and cave divers managed to extract debris such as tires, televisions, bicycle wheels, cans, containers, glass, etc. from the water, obtaining a total of 850 kg of solid waste.
With these actions, the Bepensa Foundation and its partners continue to rescue these bodies of water, which make up the most important water reserve in southeastern Mexico. By raising awareness about their care and importance, we seek to inspire residents to take care of this water reserve.
