Bepensa, as part of the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry, continues to work on water security solutions.

The Coca-Cola System is committed to providing new nature-based solutions, such as wetlands that will supply clean water to communities in different states across the country.

As part of this effort, it maintains its strategy of promoting access through initiatives such as Rain Schools, which in 2022 saw 117 installations across the country.

Additionally, during 2023, solutions for water care and preservation will be developed in areas of high water stress, as part of a joint investment of 87 million pesos with the organizations Toroto, Pronatura, and Kilimo.

In the framework of World Water Day, Bepensa, as part of the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry, reinforces its commitment to two of its fundamental goals: returning 100% of the water used to nature and providing access to clean water to 1 million Mexicans by 2030. Aware that we are all part of the solution to the national water situation, this year we will continue to make progress in several initiatives and programs.

“Water, like love, moves us all. Individually, we are drops, but together we multiply our impact and form oceans of change,” said Sergio Londoño, Vice President of Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability at Coca-Cola Mexico. “At Coca-Cola Mexico, we are aware of the need for urgent action, which is why we are acting accordingly with a clear objective: to reduce, reuse, and locally replenish water in all the communities where we operate.”

To continue protecting water and the communities where it operates, this year the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry is promoting more than nine initiatives and alliances with key partners for the care, preservation, and replenishment of clean water. In collaboration with the organizations Toroto, Pronatura, and Kilimo, through a joint investment of 87 million pesos, an ambitious strategy was developed to provide solutions and develop water conservation projects. The implementation of these projects will result in concrete contributions and solutions in conservation, management, soil restoration, and reforestation, as well as irrigation monitoring and responsible water use in agricultural areas.
