Bepensa Dominicana carries out coastal cleanup

Santo Domingo. The Coca-Cola System, comprised of The Coca-Cola Company and its local bottler, Bepensa Dominicana, held a cleanup event last Saturday at Güibia Beach in the National District, as part of its Circular Seas sustainability initiative, in commemoration of International Coastal Cleanup Day.

Circular Seas is the program through which we seek to contribute to reducing marine waste, foster a recycling culture, and collect information that serves as a guide for the future.

The event was attended by the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Orlando Jorge Mera, Representatives from Nuvi, an association that seeks to lead circular economy goals and support integrated waste management systems, and Ecored, a business group dedicated to facilitating the incorporation of a culture of social responsibility and sustainable development in the country.

Juan Amell, Director of Corporate Public Affairs at Bepensa Dominicana, indicated that the Coca-Cola System has managed to positively impact the environment, thanks to the collaboration of allies and volunteers with events like this one that the companies have been holding in the country for 15 years.

For her part, Olga Guerrero, Communications and Sustainability Manager for the Caribbean at The Coca-Cola Company, indicated that they will continue to assume their commitment to coordinate more actions to benefit the planet's sustainability, such as this event, which, as part of the Circular Seas initiative, is held three times a year.
