Santo Domingo.- Bepensa Dominicana received the gold medal last Thursday in the National Award for Quality in Large Companies, in the Industry category. This award has been granted since 1992 by a group of trade, government, and academic organizations that make up the National Award Council for Quality in the Private Sector of the Dominican Republic.
This recognition, inherited from the Industrial Excellence Award, is awarded to the quality management and excellence of Dominican companies dedicated to the production of goods and services in the country for their efforts to improve their performance, competitiveness, and sustainable development.
Bepensa, a Mexican business group that bottles Coca-Cola's portfolio of products for the Dominican Republic, expressed its gratitude for the award, which had been presented to 107 companies in 15 ceremonies by 2018.
“Bepensa Dominicana is honored to receive this award, which reflects the outstanding work of more than 2,500 employees who give their all every day in their jobs. Being a large company further commits us to maintaining high standards of efficiency and quality, focused on providing products and services that meet the needs of our customers,” said Fernando del Río, the company's general manager.
The executive recalled that Bepensa's operations in the country began in 2006 due to the favorable investment climate and the opening of the market to its products, but above all, due to the excellent performance of Dominican workers.
In this regard, he emphasized that this is one of the reasons why Bepensa Dominicana is one of the 30 companies ranked by the Great Place to Work Institute for Central America & the Caribbean, which is conducted annually to promote cultures based on high trust and good work practices.
These achievements are in addition to the "Igualando RD" Gold Seal, awarded in 2017 by the Ministry of Women, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the Ministry of Labor; as well as the NORDOM 775 Gender Equality certification granted by the Dominican Institute for Quality (INDOCAL).
