Bepensa participates in the sanitation of the cenote in Calotmul

As part of the efforts we're carrying out at Bepensa and the Bepensa Foundation, as part of the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry for a #WorldWithoutWaste, a cenote in Calotmul was cleaned up with the support of volunteers, authorities, and community members.

The Bepensa Foundation, always committed to our community, carried out the cleanup activities at the Calotmul cenote, with the assistance and expertise of the Grosjean Expedition.

Mr. Fernando Díaz Ponce, President of the Bepensa Foundation, participated in the event. He noted that "it's very important to take care of the environment and foster a different culture, and that's now being achieved."

According to Carlos Martín Briceño, Director of the Bepensa Foundation, the Calotmul cenote is number 28 on the Bepensa Foundation's list. He noted that "cenotes are unique on the peninsula, and it is our duty to keep them clean."

Volunteers from Bepensa provided support specifically to help recover waste extracted from the cenote and its surroundings. Leticia Merlene Camelo Huchim, Mayor of Calotmul, expressed her gratitude for the hard work carried out in cleaning the cenote and emphasized the community's participation and responsibility in keeping these bodies of water clean.

Also participating was Sayda Rodríguez Gómez, Secretary of Sustainable Development of Yucatán, who recognized Bepensa's work as a company committed to the environment and these actions as the mark it leaves on the communities where it operates.

With actions like this, Bepensa encourages society to care for its environment and natural resources.
