- Together for a greener future: Bepensa and the community bring life to Los Héroes neighborhood.
Mérida, Yucatán, July 2, 2025 – As part of its commitment to caring for the environment and strengthening ties with the communities where it operates, Bepensa joined the 2025 Forest Crusade, organized by the Mérida City Council.
In an atmosphere of enthusiasm and collaboration, more than 185 volunteers from Bepensa and the Bepensa Foundation, accompanied by residents of the Los Héroes neighborhood, participated in this reforestation campaign held in the neighborhood, located east of the city.
During the activity, dozens of trees were planted along avenues, sidewalks, and medians, covering a large area with selected endemic species to contribute to the regeneration of the urban environment.
Representing Bepensa, Jessica Saade Saade, Public Affairs Manager, highlighted the importance of these joint actions between the business sector, government, and civil society.
“Joining efforts to protect the environment is essential. Reforestation not only cools our cities and improves air quality, it also helps capture water for groundwater and mitigate climate change. We are proud to participate in these types of movements and to be an active part of corporate volunteering,” she said.
Bepensa thanks all the volunteers who made this event possible, as well as the Mérida City Council for promoting these types of initiatives that strengthen the social fabric and promote a greener city.
