SANTO DOMINGO. In partnership with 25 leading companies, foundations, and universities in the Dominican Republic, the Coca-Cola System, comprised of The Coca-Cola Company and its bottling partner in the country, Bepensa, held a coastal cleanup event as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and the circular economy in the country.
The activity, which was carried out under the Circular Seas platform, promoted by the Coca-Cola System based on its World Without Waste strategy, was part of the commemoration of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, which is led in the country by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MIMARENA), in an event that was held simultaneously in different Caribbean countries.
The Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Miguel Ceara Hatton, thanked the Coca-Cola System for supporting the initiative and called on the public to raise awareness about coexistence with natural environments. “You, who are a younger generation, have been taught from a very young age to care for the environment, and you know that natural resources are not unlimited, as we were once taught.”
