Coca-Cola and Bepensa Dominicana celebrate the launch of the 10th Collegiate Soccer Cup.

Coca-Cola officially launched the tenth edition of the Coca-Cola Cup, the country's most important intercollegiate soccer event, which will kick off this year on Saturday, May 12, in Santiago.

At an event held at Agora Mall, led by executives from The Coca-Cola Company and Bepensa Dominicana, the country's Coca-Cola bottler, details of the competition were announced. This year, teams representing schools in Santo Domingo, Santiago, Jarabacoa, and Punta Cana will participate.

A total of 24 men's teams and 16 women's teams will compete, with 70 matches being played in Santiago and Santo Domingo. In Santiago, the games will be played at the Cibao FC stadium, and at the Santa Fe FC field in Santo Domingo.

When delivering the keynote address at the event, Ivonne Acosta, the brand's marketing manager in the country, emphasized that "to celebrate the tenth edition of the Coca-Cola Cup, we have included a series of new features focused on player learning, not only in terms of the sport itself, but also in terms of social action."

"Furthermore, this year's World Cup is very special, as it will be a prelude to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, the largest and most crowded sporting event in the world, of which we are an official sponsor," he noted.

Coca-Cola is one of FIFA's oldest corporate partners, with a formal relationship dating back to 1974, and an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup since 1978.

To celebrate 10 years of football history in the country, the tenth edition of the Cup will offer young winners the opportunity to participate in an exclusive clinic with renowned former Colombian footballer Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama, who will be visiting the country for this purpose.
