Talking about labor market inclusion doesn't just mean incorporating people with disabilities into a job; it's also about the company and how it should adapt so that the talent it integrates has equal opportunities to achieve development.
At Bepensa Industrial, we launched the Conecta2 Inclusive program, an initiative through which we are strengthening the attraction and hiring of talent with disabilities to provide them with greater and better development opportunities.
We do this from a human perspective, ensuring that the work teams to which each person with a disability is integrated provide them with adequate and accessible spaces so they can perform their duties, but above all, that they are welcomed and received in a warm, respectful, and open environment, fostering a desire to unite their efforts and making them feel part of the team from the moment they join the company.
What have we done?
As part of the procedures implemented to improve the integration of people with disabilities in our workplaces, we have implemented various actions, such as:
-Diagnosis of suitable job profiles so that talent with disabilities can integrate optimally.
-Continuous accessibility assessment of facilities. This way, we verify the standard requirements for different types of disabilities.
-Training and awareness-raising about a culture that views disability positively, understanding how different types of disabilities are classified, principles of inclusion in the workplace, and inclusive language to create a discrimination-free environment.
-Interview role for candidates with disabilities to fill available positions.
We are convinced that proper management of diversity and equal opportunities has positive impacts such as: cultural diversity, increased productivity, innovation, competitiveness, high performance, improved company reputation, greater employee engagement, talent development and growth, commitment to society, experience and leadership, improved decision-making, empathy, empowerment, tolerance, respect, loyalty, and work-life balance, among others.
Thanks to the commitment and effort demonstrated by the teams at each of our companies in maintaining not only high standards of quality and efficiency in their operations, but also in ensuring that their inclusion projects and programs remain strong and delivering results, Bepensa has been recognized by Alianza Éntrale AC, an initiative of the Mexican Business Council.
We know there's still a long way to go, but with the commitment of each and every one of our leaders and employees, we will make progress and offer more and better development opportunities for people with disabilities in our companies.
