World Beach Day: Bepensa continues its efforts to care for and clean mangroves, cenotes, and beaches.

Mérida, Yucatán, September 18, 2023.- In the framework of World Beach Day, a date that seeks to promote the care of marine environments and raise awareness about pollution in these places, Bepensa reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and environmental care, with the announcement of a series of activities that highlight its work in the preservation and protection of coastal ecosystems.

Aware of the current situation on the planet and the urgent need for recycling and better consumer habits, Bepensa is promoting collection and cleanup programs in marine and coastal areas to join efforts to prevent more waste from reaching the sea.

The company announced a day of beach, mangrove, and cenotes cleanup activities in the states of Quintana Roo, Yucatán, and Campeche. These initiatives will take place from September 21 to 30 and reflect the company's strong commitment to the conservation of natural resources.

Cenote cleaning in Quintana Roo

On September 21, the Bepensa Foundation will clean the cenote in region 230 in Cancún, Quintana Roo, in an effort to preserve and maintain this important water source in southeastern Mexico. This activity also seeks to instill a culture of care, importance, and the impact these resources have on the lives and health of the region's residents.

Beach Cleanup Day in Campeche

On September 22 and 29, Bepensa Bebidas, part of the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry (IMCC) in Campeche will join the Beach and Mangrove Cleanup Day organized with the Champotón City Council, in a demonstration of active collaboration with the local community, thus demonstrating its dedication to protecting marine ecosystems and promoting the importance of recycling.

Simultaneous cleanup of beaches and mangroves in Yucatán

On September 23, the Bepensa Motriz division will participate in the "Simultaneous Beach Cleanup" event in conjunction with the Yucatán Secretariat of Sustainable Development and the GMA Foundation, "Limpiemos Yucatán," thereby demonstrating its commitment to coastal conservation.

Finally, on September 30, Bepensa Beverages and Bepensa Foundation They will carry out a volunteer effort to clean a mangrove swamp and beaches in Yucatán. This activity will also be carried out in conjunction with the state's Secretariat of Sustainable Development to demonstrate the importance of the public and private sectors working together to protect the environment.

Throughout this campaign to protect the marine ecosystems of southeastern Mexico, the company will activate its Corporate Volunteering program, comprised of employees who will join forces with their families and friends to carry out conservation activities.

These actions are part of Bepensa's efforts to build #WorldWithoutWaste by promoting sustainable practices that generate a positive impact on the planet in the short and medium term, thus achieving a sustainable future for the benefit of all people.
