Bepensa Foundation presents the “VTP TRAVELING TOUR”

The Bepensa Foundation and the Coca-Cola Foundation, in coordination with the Sustainable Schools group, will hold the "VTP Traveling Tour" as part of the "Live Your Park" (VTP) program. Starting next Monday, the 7th, several activities will take place at recreational centers in Mérida to promote environmental awareness, recycling, and physical activity among students at schools in the Yucatecan capital.

At a press conference held at the Bepensa Garden, it was announced that the purpose of this project is to generate social activation in each park that has been worked on to date by both groups, empowering nearby communities, and fostering social cohesion in each VTP park. More than 800 people would benefit.

Art, nutrition, science, and physical activity workshops will be held in conjunction with the Bepensa Foundation's "Get Active in Your Park" program. The environmental group EcoGuerreros and the Recycle to Educate association will also be supporting this initiative, offering workshops on environmental awareness, emphasizing the importance of separating trash and recycling. The tour will begin on May 7 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bepensa Garden.

Jorge Trujillo Evangelista, Project Manager at the Bepensa Foundation, reported that VTP consists of rehabilitating parks and existing spaces, equipping them with new elements, innovative play areas, and exercise equipment, as well as improving public spaces. Twenty-two parks have already been renovated in the state: six in Mérida by the Bepensa Foundation, in coordination with Sustainable Schools, as part of the VTP program.

For his part, Christian Sánchez, coordinator of the peninsular area of ​​sustainable schools, said that it is not only about equipping a space, but also following up and empowering a community, providing it with tools so that they can have more opportunities.— Abraham Bote Tun In that sense, he said that the “VTP Traveling Tour” consists of taking to each community that has already benefited from a park, nutrition workshops, physical activities, science and technology with which they learn how to recycle and its importance.

"We want to recover values ​​and give children more opportunities, providing them with spaces that are helpful," he said.
