Imports of Mexican plastic to Central America increase

According to Forbes magazine, several Central American countries are increasing their industrial purchases of plastic supplies from Mexican companies, with a highly significant figure of $403 million in the 2016-2017 period.

This means that the value of Central American purchases of plastics and their manufactures from Mexican companies grew 21% compared to 2016, surpassing the declines in demand from previous years.

Bepensa plays a key role in these efforts, as Mega Empack, one of our industrial division companies, has five plants in Mexico that currently export to the United States, Asia, the Caribbean, and Central America, representing a large portion of the 166,000 tons imported to Central American countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Panama.

With a focus on innovation, Mega Empack provides packaging design and manufacturing solutions with guaranteed safety for the food, beverage, chemical, and other industries. It is an organization dedicated to the manufacture of rigid packaging, with quality processes designed for optimization through the use of cutting-edge technology that meets the demands of these markets.

Among the solutions we offer are caps, preforms, PET bottles, PET jugs, and PET carboys. We focus on sustainable industrialization, constantly seeking environmentally friendly processes and new ways to recover and recycle PET.
