As part of the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry (IMCC), Bepensa, as a key player and ally in environmental conservation efforts, is joining the 8th Forest Crusade 2021.
In accordance with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development United Nations Organization (UN), it is crucial to guarantee the protection of the planet and its natural resources. Aware of this commitment, at Bepensa we maintain our philosophy of doing things the right way, supporting initiatives that allow us to be part of the solution to current environmental problems through actions that promote the environment and protect nature.
Bepensa, as part of the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry, maintains a genuine interest in collaborating with the country through sustainability actions, environmental care, and conservation in the communities where it operates.
Since 2009, Bepensa has been recognized as a Socially Responsible Company for its active contribution to improving the social, economic, and environmental environment.
Heat, noise, pollution, and a deteriorating environment. Living in cities can sound complicated. That's why one way to enjoy urban life more is to surround ourselves with trees, which help us maintain environmental balance by capturing water and creating more pleasant spaces.
Trees not only help capture carbon dioxide (CO2) and suspended particles from the air that cause environmental pollution, they also help absorb water, provide shade, and prevent noise from spreading. For all these reasons, reforesting cities is a significant benefit for everyone.
With the aim of adding to the recharge of the aquifers, we carry out reforestation activities with volunteers through the donation of trees of endemic species that are grown in the Bepensa Biopark, an initiative of Bepensa Foundation.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) also points out that trees contribute to water supply. The greater the extent of forested areas, the greater the amount of water collected. In fact, much of the water in the world's cities comes from the forested areas surrounding them.
A more tree-lined city has a direct impact on health, environmental benefits, and economic development.
At Bepensa, as part of the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry, we reiterate our commitment to protecting the environment. Part of this has been our collaboration with the National Reforestation and Water Harvesting Program (PNRCA) since 2008, through which we help recover and repopulate Mexico's forests by planting more than 79 million trees across the country.
Throughout its more than 70-year history, Bepensa has maintained its commitment to promoting the country's comprehensive well-being and sustainable development, with the main objective of generating and driving development for Mexico.
