Investment in the Dominican Republic increases with the expansion of Bepensa Dominicana

Santo Domingo, February 21, 2024.- The Dominican Republic received a capital injection of more than $20 million, with the installation of a new production line for Coca-Cola brand beverages by its domestic bottler, Bepensa Dominicana.

The opening ceremony was led by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Víctor Bisonó, the shareholders of the Bepensa Group, and regional executives of the Coca-Cola Company.

The business leaders emphasized that the Dominican Republic's business climate favors industrial development, allowing the Coca-Cola System to continue developing initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and the social and economic development of communities.

They also highlighted the Dominican Republic's position as one of the most important markets in the region: "In 2024, we have projected an investment of over $40 million, as well as 140 new jobs. In Bepensa Dominicana's 17-year history, our investments have exceeded $350 million," stated Alonso Gasque, CEO of Bepensa Bebidas.

On behalf of The Coca-Cola Company, Louis Balat, president of the Central Latin America region, expressed that, thanks to the advanced technology of this new line, consumers will be able to continue enjoying the best of Coca-Cola products. “For us, there is nothing more important than reaching the tables of Dominican families, accompanying them in their daily lives with beverage options that fit their needs and life stages, while making a difference by leading with purpose in the communities where we operate,” Balat said.

Vision of sustainability

During the opening ceremony, executives from Bepensa and Coca-Cola highlighted the commitment of both companies to environmental protection, which is reflected in programs for waste collection, the integration of recycled materials in packaging, water conservation, and environmental education.

They also expressed their commitment to developing programs for economic growth and empowerment: "This significant investment not only increases our production capacity but also contributes to the development of the country's production chain," said Alonso Gasque.

At Bepensa, we are proud of this great advancement in our industry, promoting new sources of employment and leading us to a more sustainable future as part of the Coca-Cola System.
