Tips for working from home

In an effort to reduce exposure to COVID-19 in our facilities, we implemented home office as a preventative measure for those positions that can perform work activities from home.

If this is your first time working under this modality, we share the following tips, which will surely be very useful.

1.- Prepare a space to work

Prepare a temporary space to work from. Some adjustments include lighting, temperature, and sound insulation. Choose a comfortable, firm seat that helps you maintain good posture while you work; this will help you stay awake and focused. Working in bed or on overly soft chairs can make you drowsy and impair your performance. It's important to have internet access.

2.- Organize your day every day

Define your work schedule and stick to it. Make a list of the activities you need to cover during the day, prioritize them, and focus on completing them during your work hours.

3.- Separate the domestic from the work

Make it clear to the people you share your home with that even though you're home, you're actually working. Set boundaries and avoid misunderstandings.

4.- Make video calls with your team

Set a specific time for these meetings. They shouldn't be too long and will serve to establish the day's priorities and objectives. Although you won't be in direct contact with your leader and the rest of your team as you are when you're in the office, try to communicate with them regularly throughout the day. Don't overload your email. If you need quick responses, communicate assertively using appropriate apps like WhatsApp, Hangouts, or Meet. Remember to dress appropriately, making sure you're not left in your pajamas, to foster good habits and proper work discipline by following your usual routine.

At Bepensa, we're committed to serving our community and are working every day to provide you with useful information during these critical times.
