Another year of success for the ReQPET program in Campeche

As part of Bepensa's commitment to providing an effective solution for improving our environment, we present the results of the ongoing, comprehensive PET collection program called ReQPET, which is implemented and coordinated by the Bepensa Foundation.

The ReQPET Program promotes an ecological culture regarding solid waste management, especially PET, encouraging environmental responsibility and encouraging recycling.

Its foundation is educating children in schools and, through them, society at large, about the importance of recovery and recycling, especially of plastic waste, as an effective solution for improving our environment. All this with a circular economy approach that strengthens sustainable management toward a vision of a world without waste.

Bepensa's ReQPET mission began in Campeche in 2012 with eight collection points. This number has grown thanks to the commitment and acceptance of Campeche residents, so we currently have 136 collection points in various municipalities in the state.

In addition to Campeche, we have 166 collection points in Yucatán and 134 more in the state of Quintana Roo, bringing the total to 436 collection points across the peninsula. This is compelling evidence of our commitment to improving the quality of life and preserving the environment in Mexico.

The impact of this project is significant, as we have collected a total of 35,899 kilograms of PET over the past three years, with 2018 being a significant year, doubling the figure from 2017.

With these programs, Bepensa, through its foundation, reaffirms its commitment to a vision of a waste-free world with actions that address the needs for proper use, disposal, and recycling of plastic waste in the country. We work comprehensively with a forward-looking vision to educate new generations with a comprehensive vision of the circular economy, in which we leverage this material at all stages of its life cycle and thus reduce its impact on our environment.
