Mérida, Yucatán, April 12, 2025 – The most anticipated sporting and family recreation event of the year is back, now in its third consecutive edition: the 3rd Powerade Race 2025, to be held on May 4th at the “Jardín Bepensa” in the western part of the city of Mérida, Yucatán.
In this edition of the race, two thousand people in various categories will be able to participate. In addition to exercising, they will have the opportunity to help civil organizations that work tirelessly to transform lives.
"We are excited to be able to hold the third edition of our Powerade Race for a Cause in partnership with Vive Deportes and in coordination with the Yucatán State Sports Institute and the Mérida City Council, DIF, and IIPEDEY, supporting the causes of the aforementioned institutions," said Jorge Urbina, Representative of Bepensa Bebidas.
This year, the race is inclusive, as special categories for people with disabilities have been integrated, reaffirming the commitment to creating spaces where everyone can participate, surpass their own limits, and celebrate our diversity, he added.
In addition to the ten-kilometer races in different categories with corresponding awards, this third edition highlights the inclusion focus for people with disabilities, who will be able to participate in three- or five-kilometer races.
“Today is an exciting day, as we are here to announce the third edition of our Powerade Race for a Cause, which is not just a competition; it's an opportunity to unite as a society, running together toward a goal that goes beyond the finish line: helping the civil organizations that are supporting us this year and working tirelessly to transform lives,” emphasized Margarita Ponce, president of the Bepensa Foundation.
"I thank our annual partners and those who are part of this Powerade race for a cause this time for their invaluable support and trust, as well as the media that will publicize this activity and continue promoting active and healthy lifestyles in our community," he said.
The organizing committee extended a cordial invitation to professional and amateur runners, as well as to families and the entire community, to be part of this unique experience of coexistence, since the spirit of unity and solidarity must prevail.
“Together, we will demonstrate that sport moves not only bodies, but hearts as well. See you at the starting line!” stated the committee, which recognized the popular interest and enthusiasm, as well as the growing participation in this event since it was first organized in 2023.
