Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- Bepensa Dominicana became the first company in the Dominican Republic to receive the Igualando RD Platinum Seal, awarded by the Ministry of Women and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in recognition of companies that promote gender equality within their organizational structure.
We earned this recognition for exceptional performance in promoting gender equality and for fully meeting all the requirements of NORDOM 775 for Gender Equality, a certification we have held since 2018 and which has been renewed following an audit conducted by the Dominican Institute of Quality (Indocal).
Fernando del Río, CEO of Bepensa Dominican Republic, expressed his gratitude for this important distinction, stating that this recognition motivates us to continue implementing good labor practices for the benefit of our employees in the Dominican Republic, as well as to open up equal opportunities for both men and women.
We have a Gender Equality Committee that allows us to create non-discriminatory policies related to the recruitment, promotion, and compensation of our staff, as well as take action to prevent and address domestic and gender-based violence.
Juan Amell, Director of Corporate Public Affairs at Bepensa Dominicana, emphasized that reducing the inequality gap at the workplace requires collective action, and we therefore invite the productive sectors of the Dominican Republic to join forces for this cause by opening the doors to Dominican women so they can continue their technical and professional development in companies.
The Ministry of Women and UNDP agreed that at Bepensa Dominicana we have made significant progress in developing a comprehensive management system for incorporating a gender perspective and investing in capacities for gender equality, and that we are also contributing to achieving national and global goals for gender equality.
Our commitment at Bepensa Dominicana is to contribute to the development and growth of our country and its people.
