During the period in which Carlos Martin Briceño, Director of the Bepensa Foundation, served as President of the Comprehensive Social Development Committee before the SEPLAN In Yucatan, different activities were carried out following the lines of action Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The 2030 Agenda is a long-term action plan whose main objective is to end poverty in all its forms; ensure social, economic, and sustainable progress throughout the world; combat inequality and injustice; and address climate change. It is also managed by a series of Councils that comprise the 2030 Agenda, classifying its various objectives within them. The 2030 Agenda revolves around five central axes: Planet, People, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnerships.
Since April 2021, when we were elected by the members of the Comprehensive Social Development Committee of the 2030 Agenda to occupy the presidency, we proposed to carry out forceful actions that would contribute to reinforcing the Sustainable Development Goals established by the UN through the Technical Secretariat for Planning and Evaluation of the Government of the State of Yucatán.
We began our administration amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which prompted us to begin our work with a focus on goals related to ending poverty, reducing hunger, and ensuring health and well-being.
Regarding the passing of the baton, Martín Briceño commented: “I end this cycle by sharing my excitement at knowing that through various actions we have left a mark on many families, sowing happiness and creating moments I will never forget. At the Bepensa Foundation, we will continue working together through this initiative, in which solidarity and enthusiasm are key ingredients so that today this force grows stronger and stronger, leading us toward new goals.”
At the Bepensa Foundation, we are very proud of the work of our people and the positive impact they leave as leaders in our communities. These are the values that distinguish us and make us stand out.
