Bepensa Foundation graduates community health leaders in Hunucmá, Tekax, and Espita

The Bepensa Foundation reaffirms its commitment to the health and well-being of Yucatecan communities through the recent graduation of participants from the "Community Health Leaders" course as part of its "B Day for Your Health" program.

Graduation ceremonies were held in the municipalities of Hunucmá, Tekax, and Espita on August 26, 28, and 29, where the efforts and dedication of the new community leaders were recognized.

Carlos Marín Briceño, Director of the Bepensa Foundation, attended these events and expressed his pride in the completion of this cycle, noting that the "B Day for Your Health" program reflects the Bepensa Foundation's commitment to the health and comprehensive development of communities.

“We are delighted to see how these new leaders are preparing to make a real difference in their communities, promoting a healthier and safer environment for all.”

The Bepensa Foundation, in collaboration with health authorities and specialists, has worked to educate and train community leaders in the detection of illnesses and the implementation of healthy practices.

These preventive actions seek to counteract the incidence of chronic degenerative diseases by improving eating habits and promoting physical activity among residents.

During these events, Carlos Marín Briceño, Director of the Bepensa Foundation, along with Lucía Cervera G. Cantón, Health and Social Development Manager at the Bepensa Foundation, formalized the presentation of equipment and diplomas to community leaders who participated in the workshop on disease detection and nutritional guidance.

Health promoters are now trained to form support groups, known as Mutual Aid Groups (GAM), which already operate in the state, to identify symptoms of illnesses and promote prevention and support in their communities.

Gabriela Cardounel Trujeque, a nutrition specialist and representative of the Hunucmá Health Center, highlighted the importance of preventive medicine and thanked the Bepensa Foundation for its participation. She emphasized that prevention is essential to avoiding catastrophic illnesses that can affect both health and family finances.

Alejandrina Toledo and María de Cossío, members of GAM, thanked the Bepensa Foundation for the detection equipment and the opportunity to acquire knowledge about health and well-being.

“We are proud to belong to this group. I enjoyed learning, and that's what we're here for: to serve,” said Cossío after receiving her diploma.

The Bepensa Foundation not only focuses on health but also promotes multiple social benefits, such as providing scholarships to underprivileged children, reforestation, collecting and collecting PET for recycling, and supporting university students. It also organizes environmental conservation activities and offers free fitness sessions in public spaces.

Carlos Marín Briceño concluded: "By promoting programs and projects in health, education, community development, and the environment, we, together with other organizations and authorities, are building a better society."
