Bepensa Foundation and the Mexican Red Cross

Bepensa has joined the great effort of all Mexicans to help our brothers and sisters affected by recent natural disasters.

To implement and distribute aid more effectively, our Natural Disasters Committee (CODENA) was activated, coordinating the following efforts:

With contributions from our employees and the commitment of Bepensa and the Bepensa Foundation to donate $1 peso for every $1 peso donated, we raised $454,000 pesos, which will be donated to the Red Cross to purchase materials for reconstruction efforts, with the participation of Bepensa volunteers.

Once again, we have all demonstrated our commitment to Mexico and our brothers and sisters who need us so much in these difficult times. Thanks to everyone's work, we established collection centers at our workplaces and also facilitated the Coca-Cola Garden as a massive collection center for food and other donations that people, companies, and Bepensa collaborators gathered together. As a result of this effort, 1,000 donations were made.

  • 15.5 tons of food supplies to Oaxaca, Puebla and Chiapas
  • 50 temporary shelters in Oaxaca
  • Loan of heavy machinery and platforms for the removal and reconstruction of affected areas.
  • More than 1,000 20-liter Cristal purified water bottles for shelters
  • Transport in 3 double-trailer trailers for the transfer of supplies

All of these efforts add up to a total of 1,827,620 pesos in aid.

In response to the needs of those affected by the earthquakes in September of this year, the Mexican Red Cross Yucatán Delegation carried out the following:

  • An emergency meeting was held on Wednesday, September 20, during which the decision was made to open collection centers in the state's districts.
  • On Friday, September 22, the collection center was moved to the Jardín Coca-Cola facilities, which became the state assembly center.
  • 5 trailers were sent to Ixtepec, Oaxaca.
  • 1,326 volunteers collaborated at the collection center
  • Aid sent: 3,400 food kits, 1,600 hygiene kits
  • Total shipped: 121 tons
  • Closing of operations October 4
