On October 15, the Bepensa Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and the environment by participating in the Awareness Colloquium on the Environmental and Climate Agenda of the State of Yucatán, held at the State Congress.
The event brought together legislators, civil society organizations, and key stakeholders to discuss strategies and public policies to address the climate emergency and its impact on sectors such as health, tourism, economic development, and social issues.
Representatives of the Bepensa Foundation, along with other organizations such as PRONATURA, Limpiemos Yucatán, and Va por la Tierra, presented the progress and results of their programs focused on responsible waste management, environmental education, and reforestation, which have been pillars in the fight against climate change in the region.
During the colloquium, the importance of cross-cutting environmental public policies and the need to involve civil society in decision-making that helps preserve the environment were discussed.
Representative Sayda Rodríguez Gómez, organizer of the event, emphasized that collaborative work between associations and legislators is essential to developing initiatives that promote a more sustainable future.
The Bepensa Foundation, through programs such as ReQPET and its awareness-raising initiatives on water conservation and reforestation, will continue to support initiatives that help mitigate the effects of climate change and improve the quality of life of communities in Yucatán.
