January 26th is World Environmental Education Day. Its main objective is to identify environmental issues at both the global and local levels and to raise awareness among individuals, and especially governments, about the need for participation in conserving and protecting the environment.
This date originated from the Declaration of the United Nations Conference on the Environment held in Stockholm, Sweden, in June 1972, which discussed the importance of protecting the environment and outlined the need for common principles that would provide inspiration and guidance to society in preserving and improving our environment.
The main objective of World Environmental Education Day is to emphasize the importance of environmental education as a scientific discipline that pays special attention to the social dimension of environmental problems and focuses on creating awareness, knowledge, skills, and motivation to address, solve, and prevent these problems.
One of the main commitments of the Bepensa Foundation is to care for the environment and promote it; this is achieved through the program REQPET, whose main objective is to positively impact the conservation of the natural environment for future generations, through environmental and ecological education to create recycling habits and disseminate the circular economy model with which we work in the communities where we operate. Bepensa has presence.
More than 450 allies have attended recycling talks, where they learn to identify PET plastic containers that can be recycled. The course focuses on the four steps for proper disposal: empty, crush, seal, and place in the appropriate container, all of which contribute to our contribution to the planet.
On the other hand, the Biopark program is in place to raise awareness and educate children and young people on issues of conservation, ecology, and sustainability.
Additionally, the Biopark program is available to raise awareness and educate children and young people on conservation, ecology, and sustainability issues.
The Biopark consists of a 10,000-square-meter demonstration green area where various environmentally friendly initiatives can be observed, such as recycling materials, the use of alternative energy sources, and the reuse of water from wastewater treatment processes. This project focuses on schools so that future generations can learn, see, and experience an environmentally friendly space and become familiar with it for optimal environmental care.
